The same thing happened with one in Memphis where a friend of mine works, only with a tun of cheese involved. Then another fellow in my home town said that he piles peperoni on because it's the way he likes it. For instance, a guy working at one around here tells us he doesn't put hardly any tomato sauce on pizzas he makes because it's the way he eats it. You never know who's going to be cooking your pizza though, so sometimes ya get a good one and sometimes not. Not sure if they have any vegan pizzas, though. I used to like Papa Murphy's a lot but haven't seen any lately- their pizzas tasted so good and fresh when you brought them home and baked them. Yeah, CiCi's was really popular when I was there, over half our church would go there, it was like an extended sermon with food, LOL!įrozen pizzas are good. I'd forgotten about Lisa! Also, to Powder, vegetarian pizzas have plenty of toppings, Mikey seems to like candy the best anyway (jellybeans). Here in my current "home" there is a place called Varona's which is pretty good when you want a "real" pizza. When I was a kid, there was a place called Mama's Pizza in my hometown, that was AWESOME! A little mom and pop place, only had two stores. Both are pretty decent, but I like CiCi's better for the variety and the dessert pizzas. ![]() Unfortunately, there is no PJ's where I live now, so it's either CiCi's or Pizza Hut. When we both quit, they started loosing business. I may be biased, but my go-to for chain restaurants is Papa John's- but then, my hubby and I worked there for over three years, and the town I lived in had all three major chains (PJ's, PH, and Dom) as well as Pizza Inn, and our PJ's was the best chain in town (at least according to our customer base- many of them came over to us from those "other" places.) When the PJ's closed down- due to the owner's IRS issues, not any fault of the store itself- strangely enough, many of those customers drifted to the Dominoes (which the hubby and I also ended up working for). Mikey being a vegetarian would give him an excuse to utter the classic phrase,"I crave pizza no more." I'd forgotten about Doug's sister being a vegetarian. They do very good business from what I've been hearing. Pretty cost effective from what I'm seeing on their menu. There's another pizza placeclose to me but you buy them frozen and cook them yourself. There was a local joint close to us called Pizza Patron which was pretty good but they closed a while back. We had a few of those around Arkansas when I used to live there as well. But anywho, my cousins in MS were crazy about CiCi's from what I remember. Wish I could remember how the actual pizza tastes. I have a tun of relatives in MS! Come to think of it, CiCi's did have some amazing dessert pizzas. Turtles and pizza definitely go together! :tgrin: I had another dessert pizza a few years ago but it just wasn't the same. I almost forgot about dessert pizzas I used to eat them all the time as a kid- I think it was CiCis' (or Sicily's) pizza or something that had them, they were popular in Biloxi, MS where I lived at the time. Last cartoon that had a vegetarian that I can recall was Judy from Doug and that was forever ago. Must be fate, LOL! So many tv shows are having characters that are vegetarian or vegan. Mikey is the character I'd most like to see become a vegetarian (at least!). Yeah, I looked it up and Greg Cipes has been a vegetarian since he was 8 and a vegan since '09 (according to wikipedia a couple other sites). haha Those Cookie Cakes from Great American Cookies would pass for excellent dessert pizzas, I guess. I never order dessert because I always feel guilty ordering out to begin with. oh some kind of Hershey breadsticks, I think. Not sure if some chains still do this, but I also remember dessert pizzas back in the day. People kept shoving supreme pizza at me which I never liked to begin with, but once I crossed paths with peperoni and cheese as well as plain cheese it was love at first bite. Pizza and Turtles do make one heck of a combo. I'll have to order from one when I head to Austin in April to do more testing. Yup, I see there are around 3 or so in Austin where I had to travel in order to take my Teachers' certification exam. ![]() Bet that guy has some mean pizza recipes! Ah man, Zpizza does sound vaguely familiar! Now I'm tempted to see what I can find regarding this chain because I'd almost swear we passed by one in Tx. At least I seem to remember hearing he was either a vegan or vegetarian. I always think of Greg Cipes whenever I think of anything vegan. Maybe we can chow down on vegan pizza one day together and watch some turtles! :twink: You should totally find a place! Zpizza's definitely my go-to. ![]() ![]() It's totally awesome! I love it! :tgrin: Zpizza is a chain, but I'm not sure where all it's at.
